The Glenn County Counsel is Huston T. Carlyle, Jr.

The County Counsel is the legal advisor to the Board of Supervisors, all County Departments, some independent governmental Agencies, all dependent special districts, and independent special districts who retain the County Counsel's services.

The County Counsel reviews and drafts ordinances and administrative policies at board or department request, reviews all county contracts, attends all Board of Supervisor's meetings and deals with all of the county's litigation and outside counsel, except for those claims accepted by the county's insurance carriers. This office also advises county officials and departments on legal issues when requested.

The County Counsel represents the County's Public Guardian/Public Administrator and makes appearances with regard to Conservatorships and Accountings.
