Hamilton City, CA – Monday, October 21, 2019, Deputies from the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office responded a report of a vehicle collision in the area of 2nd St. and Sierra Ave. in Hamilton City around 10:30 PM. Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with EMS, Hamilton City Volunteer Fire Department and CHP Officers arrived on scene and discovered a maroon Acura passenger car collided with a utility pole, trampoline and parked vehicle before coming to rest in the driveway of a residence on the northwest corner of 2nd St.
The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public that students are returning to school. Please drive with caution and obey all of the traffic laws around our schools due to an increase in foot traffic and vehicles in the area. Additional patrols will commence around schools to increase driver safety.

Willows, CA – Monday August 5, 2019, Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Cedar Hills Apartment Complex, around 11:30 Monday night, to investigate a report of a stabbing. Deputies arrived at the complex to find a man who had been stabbed multiple times in the upper torso. The man was found seated outside near the laundry room building in complex. The man told Deputies that a man in a black hooded sweatshirt, accosted him while he was walking through complex, stabbed him several times and then ran away.
Willows, CA – Monday July 29, 2019, Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on the 600 block of N. Shasta Street in Willows for a report of a shooting. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. Deputies arrived on scene and found a deceased gunshot victim inside of the residence. The gunshot victim was identified as 44 year old Michael Paul Oliveira of Orland. Investigators from the Glenn Investigative Task Force are investigating the circumstances behind the shooting. There are no named suspects at this time.
Willows, CA – Wednesday July 17, 2019, The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office is investigating vandalism that occurred at the Walden Academy in Willows, CA. Walden Academy is a Kindergarten through 8th grade public charter school located on property belonging to St. Monica’s Catholic Church. The vandalism to the Walden Academy occurred sometime between Friday, July 12th and Monday, July 17th. Vandals broke into several buildings including a classroom, storage room and restrooms.
Willows, CA – Saturday, July 6, 2019, Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of North Tehama and West Wood Streets in Willows around 8:00 p.m. for a report of man driving a red car who tried to abduct two teenage girls. A Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputy contacted two teenaged females, 14 years of age and 15 years of age, in the area. The girls reported a man driving a red car, who was approximately 40 years of age, pulled up next to them, began speaking in a foreign language and tried to get them to get in his vehicle.
Update: Orland, CA- The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office is continuing an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a barn fire that occurred last Thursday at 6305 County Road 15, outside of Orland. While extinguishing the fire, Orland Firefighters located what appeared to be an unidentifiable charred body inside of the burnt out building. Investigators from the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office were able to tentatively identify the Decedent and are awaiting confirmation of the Decedent’s identity through further forensic procedures.

Safe Medication Disposal Now Available in Orland
Orland, CA – Glenn County Sheriff’s Office now has a safe medication disposal site available in Orland. The receptacle is located in front the Courthouse at 821 East South Street, Orland. This will provide a safe and secure way for our north county residents to dispose of unused and unwanted medications, including controlled substances, at any time.

Minor Decoy Operation
The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office, The Glenn Inter-Agency Narcotics Task Force (GLINTF) and Agents from Alcohol Beverage Control conducted a minor decoy operation on Friday night. After sending an underage decoy into 8 establishments in the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction, the minor was able to purchase alcoholic beverages from three of the eight establishments.
