School Bus Safety

For some 25 million students nationwide, the school day begins and ends with a trip on a school bus. Unfortunately, each year many children are injured and several are killed in school bus incidents.

Second Hand Smoke

Infants and young children whose parents smoke in their presence are at increased risk of lower respiratory tract infections (pneumonia and bronchitis) and are more likely to have symptoms of respiratory irritation like coughing, wheezing, and excess phlegm.

Water Safety

In 2005, drowning claimed the lives of 3,582 people. Although all age groups are represented, children four years old and younger have the highest death rate due to drowning, representing more than 25 percent.
