3rd Annual SPEAKS

Orland, CA -  Join us in recognition of the World Suicide Prevention Day.  Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death for all age groups in California which equates to one person every two hours dies by suicide in our state. Glenn County will be holding the 3rd Annual SPEAKS event to promote suicide awareness, to bridge services to the community, and to reduce stigma.

SPEAKS stands for Safety, Prevention, Empowerment & Education, Awareness, Knowledge, and Stigma. Through ‘SPEAKS’ we can end the silence and bring awareness and education to save lives.

This community event provides an opportunity for both mental health consumers as well as community members to be educated about suicide prevention and stigma in a way that is insightful and fun for children, youth, and families. Event includes: Raffle, food, music, inspirational speakers, informational booths, and activities for the kids.
