PAROLE DENIED!
PEOPLE V. LESCALLETT, DARRELL – Inmate Lescallett, now 65 years old, committed a callous and especially heinous crime with an unprovoked motive when he was 25 years old. The present crime was very cruel and was carried out in a callous manner. The victim was stabbed multiple times. The crime was premediated and planned in advance as indicated by the Prisoner’s statement while en route to the Bay Area that it was necessary to kill the victim. The Prisoner violated a position of trust in that he used the victim to secure a ride. The Prisoner used a weapon to kill the victim.
Mrs. Jackson was asked for a ride from Lescallet , his brother and another person. Once in the car, Mrs. Jackson was pulled into the backseat and forced to the floor. Just south of Willows, Mrs. Jackson was placed into the trunk. They then drove to Oakland. During the ride it was discussed about killing Mrs. Jackson. Once in Oakland, Lescallet was doing more drugs. Lescallet went with his brother to kill Mrs. Jackson. Lsecallet used a knife to stab Mrs. Jackson eight times. Mrs. Jackson was also sexually assaulted by Lescallet.
This is Lescallett’s fifth parole hearing. He has been in prison for at least 40 years.
Lescallett was found unsuitable for parole and was given a three year denial. The hearing was attended at Tehachapi State Prison by District Attorney Dwayne R. Stewart.
PEOPLE v. SMITH, GRAYSON- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Vehicle Code section 10851(a), Automobile Theft. Defendant was sentenced to 16 months prison consecutive to the current 2 year 8 month prison sentence he is serving due to felony convictions out of Sacramento County. This case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from CHP Willows Officer Ovard.
PEOPLE V. BUTLER, STEVEN- Defendant was previously convicted of misdemeanor violations of Health and Safety Code sections 11377, Possession of Methamphetamine, 11350, Possession of Controlled Substances, and 11550, Under the Influence of Controlled Substances and was found in violation of probation for the 3rd time. Defendant was sentenced to 364 days in county jail and probation was terminated. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Probation Department Officer Permann.
PEOPLE v. ORONA-IKE, JORDAN- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Health and Safety Code section 11375(b)(1), Possession of Xanax for Sale. Defendant was sentenced to 90 days jail, Drug Court, and 3 years probation. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from the Orland Police Department Officer Lowery.
PEOPLE v. GORDON, ROCKY- Defendant was convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Health and Safety Code section 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine. Defendant was sentenced to 90 days jail and 3 years probation. This case was prosecuted by DDA Vacek with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Ramirez.
PEOPLE v. BAEZA, ANTHONY- Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 530.5, Identity Theft and 273.6, Violation of Restraining Order and found in violation of probation for the 3rd time. Defendant was sentenced to 90 days jail and probation was reinstated. This case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Probation Department Officer Permann.
PEOPLE V. MCDANIEL, JACOB- Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 666.5, Auto Theft with Priors and was found in violation of probation for the 1st time. Defendant was sentenced to 60 days jail and probation was reinstated. This case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Probation Department Deputy Probation Officer Permann.
