This week the DA’s office had two separate jury trials in both courthouses, Willows and Orland. Thank you to all perspective and selected jurors for your time and patience during both two-day jury trials!

PEOPLE V. THOMAS FRED: The Defendant was convicted by a jury on all charges, two separate felony violations of Penal Code Section 288(a), Lewd and Lascivious Acts on a Child Under 14 Years Old. The Defendant also admitted to three violations of Penal Code Section 667.5(b) Prior Prison Commitments. This case was prosecuted by DDA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Detective Blair and victim witness advocate Troughton. The sentencing will be held on December 20, 2017.

PEOPLE V. CALDWELL, CORY: The Defendant was convicted by jury on all charges, misdemeanor violations of Vehicle Code Section 23152(a), Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Vehicle Code section 23152(b), Driving Under the Influence with a BAC of 0.08% or Higher. This case was prosecuted by DDA Harbarger with assistance from California Highway Patrol Officers Pozzi and Hoover. The Defendant was sentenced to 2 days in county jail and 3 years of court probation.
